Fire Door Inspection
A fire door inspection report by itself does not fix anything. Most inspectors hand your board a deficiency list and leave, which means a second contractor, a second invoice, and your building still out of compliance until someone else shows up. 1NSG Corp is a licensed general contractor, so the inspection and the repair happen with the same vendor. One company, one paper trail.
Why This Applies to Your Building
NFPA 80 requires fire door assemblies to be inspected annually, and the inspection has to be documented. If you run a hotel, condo, hospital, school, or apartment building in South Florida, that requirement applies to you every year, and it is one of the first things a fire marshal asks for. 1NSG Corp inspects and repairs fire door assemblies across Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties.
What the Annual Inspection Covers
Labels present and legible on door and frame, no holes or field modifications, clearances and gaps within tolerance, the door closes and latches from the fully open position on its own, closer working, no missing or broken hardware, and no auxiliary hardware that interferes with operation.

The Gap Is What Usually Fails
Clearance tolerances are tight and buildings move. A door that latched fine three years ago can be out of tolerance now because the frame shifted or the floor was recoated and the undercut changed. That is a deficiency, and it is correctable.
We Inspect and We Fix
A lot of inspectors hand you a report and leave. We are a licensed general contractor, so we can inspect, give you the deficiency list, and correct it with the same visit or a scheduled follow up.
What We Correct After an Inspection
The deficiencies that come up most often are closers that no longer close and latch, exit devices that fail to latch or release, and rated assemblies with a compromised label or out of tolerance clearances. Correcting them is ordinary work rather than a separate project.
If your building is also facing a milestone inspection or county recertification, see building recertification and milestone inspection repairs, where fire door findings are one of the most common correctable items.
Documentation for Your File
You get a written record of what was inspected, what passed, what failed, and what was corrected, so it is ready when the fire marshal or your insurer asks.
If you are overdue, or you got written up, send us the report and we will scope it. This page is general information and is not a substitute for the authority having jurisdiction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will our board need to hire a separate inspector and a separate repair company?
No. That is the problem this service is built to solve. We inspect and repair with the same vendor wherever the deficiency allows it, so your board is not managing two companies for one issue.
Will we get a cost before repairs begin?
Yes. You approve the cost before any repair work starts.
Can a failed inspection hold up our insurance renewal?
It can. Fire door compliance documentation is often part of what an insurer or a building recertification reviews, which is why getting deficiencies corrected quickly matters, not just documented.
