Panic Bar and Exit Device Repair
A panic bar that does not release is a life safety failure and an inspection finding. A panic bar that does not latch is an open building. 1NSG Corp repairs and replaces exit devices across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.
What we repair
Rim, mortise, surface vertical rod, and concealed vertical rod devices. Dogged devices that will not undog, latches that do not throw, worn strikes, broken touchpads, alarmed exits, and electrified devices that lost their signal.
Vertical rods are the usual suspect
Surface and concealed vertical rod devices go out of adjustment as the door and frame move. The top latch stops engaging, then people start relying on the bottom, then that wears too. It is adjustable until it is not.
Egress is not negotiable
Whatever else is happening with the opening, the device has to release with a single motion in the direction of travel. We do not add anything that defeats that, and we will tell you if something already on the door does.
If an inspector flagged your exit devices, send us the report and we will price the corrections.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our panic bar does not latch. Is that urgent?
Yes, in both directions. A device that does not release is a life safety failure and an inspection finding. A device that does not latch means the building is effectively open. Neither should wait.
Why do vertical rod devices fail most often?
Surface and concealed vertical rod devices go out of adjustment as the door and frame move. The top latch stops engaging, people start relying on the bottom, and then that wears too. It is adjustable until it is not.
Can we add a lock or alarm to stop people using an exit door?
Not if it defeats egress. The device has to release with a single motion in the direction of travel. We will tell you if something already installed on your door is a violation.
